It was that realization that led me to launch Total MRO in 2001. I had been working in the medical disposal business for nearly 20 years. During that time, the industry became increasingly dominated by huge, faceless corporations that automated virtually all of their transactions and paid scant attention to the individual needs of their customers. At the same time, I saw an incredibly diverse market of biomedical research labs and medical practices. These highly specialized organizations had distinct needs that were not being met by automated ordering technology.
That's where Total MRO came in. But unlike those other companies, we maintained a policy of personal service, with live customer service representatives who could answer questions, expedite orders, and track down hard-to-find specialty products.
